The Vodacom Corporate Triathlon Challenge is exactly that; a challenge. A combination of determination, endurance and teamwork are the ingredients needed to succeed at the 2010 Vodacom Corporate Triathlon Challenge which takes place on Saturday, the 24th April 2010. Registration for this ever popular event opens on 4th March 2010 and runs through to the 31st March 2010. Registration can be done online or alternatively, entry forms are available from Triangle Sports, 161 Main Road, Walmer from 09:00 to 16:00.
The race might be 10% of the full Ironman race, but it is by no means 10% of the effort as the athletes give their all to rise to the challenge. The 08:30 start on Hobie Beach, begins with the 380m swim followed by the 18km cycle and 4.2km run, which tests the abilities and endurance thresholds of the athletes.
Entrants can enter either as a team or individually and the race gives participants the opportunity to challenge their colleagues, challenge themselves and see how far they can push themselves. If entering as an individual the minimum age is 16 on race day. If entering as a team, the minimum age for team members is 12 on race day. The entry fee is R400 per team, R350 per school team and R250 per individual from 1 March to 31 March. Late entry is from 1 – 9 April and the fee is R500 per team, R450 per school team and R350 per individual. A maximum of 1500 entries will be taken and the first 1000 entrants will receive a T-shirt.
Out of town entrants can download an entry form from the Official website at http://www.corporatechallenge.co.za/ and fax the completed form together with the proof of payment slip back to 041581 4553.
